Sony CyberShot S60

The Cybershot DSC-S60 digital camera features Stamina technology that provides up to 110 shots with the supplied alkaline batteries and up to 550 shots with optional NiHM rechargeable batteries.

Other highlights of the DSC-S60 include an amazingly detailed 4.1 Megapixel image capture, 3X optical zoom Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens, 32 Megabytes of built-in memory, and a huge 2-inch LCD monitor. It also includes Sonys own Real Imaging Processor for fast start-up, fast shutter speeds and maximized battery performance. The Smart Zoom feature intelligently uses the full CCD to let you zoom into the portion of interest by cropping the image size, thus avoiding the image degradation of Digital Zooms.

The Vario-Tessar lens is specially produced for very compact cameras. This specialized design allows quick auto-focus, appealing zoom range while still maintaining a compact design. The innovative Real Imaging Processor in the DSC-S60 not only improves picture quality and clarity but also improves camera response time, decreases shutter lag and improves battery stamina. The optical viewfinder provides accurate framing at eye level, great for added stability and following fast moving subjects.

Steve's Digicams posted a review of the S60 and said-
"The Cyber-Shot DSC-S60 is an affordable point-n-shoot model that offers many features that are usually only found on more expensive digicams. It boasts a 4-megapixel imager coupled with a high-quality Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar 3x optical zoom lens. Beginner to intermediate users will have the ease of a fully "Auto"matic exposure mode plus 7 pre-programmed scene modes when they want to be more creative. Program AE mode allows more advanced users to change settings for exposure compensation, focus mode, ISO, white balance, sharpness, saturation, etc. The Manual mode gives you total control of the aperture and shutter speed values.
Bottom line - the Sony Cyber-shot S60 deserves a gold medal for its speedy performance, above average battery life, great image quality and amazing street price of only $249! With 4-megapixels of resolution, you can create high-quality 8x10-inch or larger prints. We feel it will make a great choice for any business, family or tourist user who is in the market for an affordable digital alternative."
