Canon Digital IXUS 50 Review

Canon's Digital IXUS 50, or as it is known in America, the PowerShot SD400 features a 3.0x zoom, a large 2.0” LCD, high quality VGA video clips at 30fps limited in length only by the capacity of the memory card , high speed USB 2.0, ‘My Colour’ in-camera colour editing and a Print/Share button for easy PictBridge direct printing and fast file uploads. Its 5.0 Megapixel sensor allows detailed enlargements up to A3 size. For fast start up times, responsive performance and superb, accurate colours and image rendering, the camera features the same high speed DIGIC II processor found in Canon’s latest professional series digital SLR cameras.

Pocket-lint.co.uk have posted their opinions of the IXUS 50 on their site and said-
"Aside from My Colors and QuickBright, the IXUS 50 is almost identical to Canon's IXUS 40, which we reviewed in November 2004. The IXUS 50 adds a megapixel, but this will make no difference to standard, 6 x 4 print. However at A3 it will give noticeably better quality.

We checked prices on the two models for this review. At around £20.00 more, the IXUS 50 seems good value for such a versatile, high quality compact camera which looks as good today as when Canon launched the first IXUS camera nine years ago."
