Olympus Stylus 800 to incorporate red-eye removal technology

The Olympus Stylus 800 (also known as Mju 800 in UK/Europe/Apac), revealed on 12 May 2005 by Olympus America,will be the first digital camera with embedded software from Pixology which will reduce the dreaded red-eye effect right at the time the photograph is taken.

A customised version of Embedded PIXOLOGYIRISS® will be incorporated in a number of new digital camera models to be released by Olympus in 2005. PIXOLOGYIRISS® will also be integrated with Olympus Master, Olympus Master Plus and Camedia Master software products supplied with Olympus digital cameras.

"The integrated PIXOLOGYIRISS® technology will provide customers of the Olympus Stylus 800 with optimum levels of protection against red-eye when shooting in poor light conditions. This in-built feature gives the camera a unique capability and is one of many reasons why customers will find it an exciting alternative to currently available products", Yuval Yashiv, CEO of Pixology plc, said.
